A poetical narrative in past and present. A man embarks
on a journey to retrieve the love of his life.
A dishevelled fisherman plods through the dunes, lugging a
heavy cart with a wooden boat on it. Finally at the beach, the
lure of the sea is strong but first the boat needs repairs.
Quickly and decidedly, the fisherman starts to work. He tinkers
all night, lit by a little fire. In the morning fog, the
voices of sirens call him to sea. Readying the boat for departure,
he carefully loads a ragged, heavy bundle which he has
concealed until now. Then the fisherman pulls his boat into the
waves for a last journey, to be reunited with his loved ones.
Slowly the beach is returned to the present.
